
Master Oswald Rivera has been a member of the Association since 1973. He has been instrumental in bringing attention to the Chinese Kung-Fu Wu-Su Association through his editorial and advertising efforts; writing for various publications, such as Black Belt Magazine and Inside Kung-Fu.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 1945, Mr. Rivera is a product of the New York City public school system and a graduate of City College of the City University of New York. He is also a US Marine Corp Combat Veteran, having served in Viet Nam during the 1968 to 1969 tour.
Oswald resides in New York City and is the author of four books: Fire and Rain, a novel about the Viet Nam War; a cookbook, Puerto Rican Cuisine in America; a second novel, The Proud and the Immortal, about the daily lives of the underground homeless; and a second cookbook, The Pharaoh's Feast. The last two books were published most recently during the winter of 2003. All of Mr. Rivera's books can be found online, or ask for them at your local bookseller.
Oswald teaches his official class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6pm-8pm. He also teaches in the Sunday class.
